Alltrista Unimark Plastics Acquires United Kingdom Operation

Christchurch, Dorset, UK July 14, 2003 - Alltrista Plastics Corporation (Greenville, SC) through its Unimark Plastics division completed the acquisition of Plastic Injection Ltd., an injection molding operation in Christchurch, Dorset, United Kingdom on July 3, 2003. The new subsidiary will change its name to Unimark Plastics Ltd., and the acquisition furthers Alltrista Unimark Plastics’ international initiative. Details of the transaction, including purchase price, were not disclosed.

The acquisition will enable Unimark Plastics to pursue new business opportunities in Europe as it continues to serve existing customers at the Christchurch facility and other current European customers as well. Unimark has a variety of synergies with this acquired company, including expertise in medical device, light industrial, and consumer markets. Christchurch is Alltrista Plastics Corporation’s ninth manufacturing site, including other sites in South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Arkansas, New York, Maine, and Puerto Rico.
